Simply Mashed Potatoes


One struggle for moms and nannies is serving food to children. We are of course after their nourishment especially when they are still toddlers. It is real important that we give them something to eat that they would love and would also be easier to munch. Should not treat it as a substitute but must be included in their meal. We can also give them Mashed potato at least 2 to 3x a week so they won’t get bored of the same old taste. Kids easily get away from food especially if that is given consistently so we can make our own mixes. One of these is Simply Mashed Potatoes.
One good thing about Mashed potatoes is that it is soft, and this is a great source of carbohydrates that gives amazing and bursting fuel of energy. This would be helpful for our kids and toddlers to conquer easy tiredness and mood flare up. tHere is how to prepare a simple but nutritious food for the little ones. This is packed with all the vitamins and minerals that you can get out of it including: Vitamin C, Vit B1, Vit B6, Folic Acid, Potassium, Magnesium, Zinc and Copper.
Below is our easy guide Mashed Potatoes Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs potatoes, peeled and quartered length-wise
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 Tbsp heavy cream
2 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp milk
Salt and Pepper
How to Prepare:
1. Put our potatoes into a saucepan.
2. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt. Add water until potatoes are covered.
3. Boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, 15-20 minutes, or until done – a fork can easily be poked through them or a toothpick.
4. Warm the heavy cream and melt butter together, either in microwave or in a pan on the stove.
5. Drain water from potatoes and put hot potatoes into a bowl.
6. Add cream and melted butter. Use potato masher to mash potatoes until well mashed. Use a strong spoon to beat further, adding milk to achieve the consistency you desire. (Do not over-beat or your potatoes will get gluey.) Salt and pepper to taste.
This can serve 5 kids.You have an option to partner it with a Gravy or serve this prepared one as is.
This is not too expensive, not to hard to prepare, delicious and nutritious and the kids will surely love it. This can be take with either water or ther favorite fruit juice.
